Introduction: Wooden World Map
Hello, welcome to my first insructable. I made a wooden world map, if you want to do it too, just follow some simple steps.
Step 1: Printing and Measuring
First you need to print a world map. I printed it in a4 format, and then I copied it to a3 format. You can draw the lines to make dots easier to draw. I did it for 0,5 cm.
Step 2: Drawing Dots
Make the dots only there were the land is. In islands it is harder to do, because they're smaller and sometimes very close to the mainland.
Step 3: Wood
Now you should get the wooden board. It should be a bit bigger than the map border, for me it is 42x24, and thick enough to drill in it (about 1,2 cm).
Step 4: Preparing to Drill
Now put some glue in the corners of the pile, and glue map to it. Then make small holes in the paper and in the board with something sharp e.g. knife.
Step 5: Preparing to Drill
Get the paper off, and clean the corners where the glue is.
Step 6: Drilling
Now you have to drill all the signs you made.
Step 7: Polishing
Now take the knife or sandpaper and polish the wood.
Step 8: Painting the Wood
Get the lacquer and simply paint the board.
Step 9: It's Ready!
It's ready, now you can sign places where I've been or where you want to go, by putting in the holes something like plasticine.
