Introduction: YIN YANG CIRCLE - WALL DECOR

About: CRAFTSMAN
Hi guys,
In this Instructables, I'll guide you to make how I quill yin yang circle and how todo frame it.
Quilling is an art form that involves the use of strips of paper that are rolled, shaped and glue together to create a decorative design. the paper is rolled, looped, curled, twisted, and otherwise manipulated to create shapes that makeup designs to creative items.
But, how to use that beautifully quilled creative item items in real life?.
The answer is 'YES', we can use that beautifully creative quilled item in our real life as wall decor, greeting cards, and jewels.
I converted my quilling art into wall decor and share with you how to be done.
Here, I made won't change in it's original circle (B/W) and colourful to fun-oriented.

Supplies

Quilling tools set,
A4 colour sheets,
Paper trimmer,
Foam cutter,
Cardboards,
Thermocols(1/2''thick),
Glue,
Colour paints.

Step 1: YIN YANG CIRCLE MEANING

Before to start work, you must know the meaning of the circle.
In ancient Chinese philosophy yin and yang is a concept of dualism describing how seemingly opposite or contrary forces may actually be complementarily interconnected and interdependent in the natural world, and how they may give rise to each other as they intermediate to each other.
In Chinese cosmology, the universe creates itself out of the primary chaos of material energy, organised into objects and lives.
Yin is the respective and yang is the active principle, seen in all the form of change and difference, such as the annual cycle (winter and summer), the landscape (North-facing shade and south-facing brightness), sexual coupling (female and male). the formation of both women and men as characters and sociopolitical history(disorder and order).
Yeah, let's get involve quill and frame it.

Step 2: PRINT

Make print yin yang circle in A4 sheet and stick that print in the stiff board.

Step 3: MAKE YOUR OWN QUILLING PAPER STRIPS

MATERIALS REQUIRED:
B/W and C/F A4 sheets,
Paper trimmer,
Pencil and scale.

Buying quill paper strips in the local or online store may cause more expensive one, but we can cut it by own.
Only we need to do this A4 black and white and colourful papers and paper trimmer.
Make a 1cm mark on both ends of an A4 sheet(B/W & C/F)in vertical position of an A4 sheet.
Cut these marks with the help of a paper trimmer and make paper strips.
Then, cut these paper strips into half (~11cm).

Step 4: START QUILLING (B/W & C/F)

MATERIAL REQUIRED:
Quilling needle,
Paper strips,
Glue,
Tooth stick.
With the help of quilling needle start quill all B/W and C/F paper strips into a tight coil and stick the end with glue.

Step 5: QUILLING SHAPES (B/W & C/F)

There are 50+ shapes in quilling, for making this I used very few of them like tight coils, raindrops(teardrops), 2colour tight coils, 5colour tight coils, 10colour tight coils.

FINAL COUNT:
B/W;
200+ tight coils,
50+ rain drops.
C/F;
300+ tight coils,
5+ rain drops,
5+ 2colour tight coils,
2 - 5colour tight coils,
1 - 10colour tight coils.

Step 6: PLANTING QUILLING SHAPES ON CIRCLE

By applying heavy glue in one side of quill shapes, start stick on the circle.
This step needs a high level of patience and requires some days to complete it, depending upon the DIY maker.

Step 7: FINISHED CIRCLE (B/W & C/F)

After 3 days of patience work, circles could be completed and ready to frame it.

Step 8: CARDBOARD WORK (FRAME)

Cardboards are used todo base and frame.
32*32 cm are cardboard base lengths and same as a frame length with 2cm frame thick.

Step 9: THERMOCOL WORK (hight)

The art might be the same as 3D, so normal frame will not fit, some height increase is required to fit the art in frame, due that, thermocols are used to only to increase height.
Cut 1/2’’(1.27cm) thick with 2cm length thermocols and stick it with frame base in 4 sides.

Step 10: CARDBOARD PEALED SHEETS

Peel the first layer of cardboard and use those sheets to cover all the sides of the whole frame.
Because those sheets have better stiffness than papers and give a look of wood.
Use ballpoint pen, to draw the line with little more pressure to fold the sheets.

Step 11: COLOURING INNER BASE

Paint some highlight colour in the inner base, so that the art will be highlighted in the frame and let to dry.
Use colour sheets in a cardboard frame instead of colour it.

Step 12: TRANSFER ART FROM BOARD

Now, transfer art from the board and stick in the centre of the base with help of glue.

Step 13: TRANSPARENT SHEET

Use transparent sheets and these sheets replace the glass in the frame and give the glass look and reduce the weight of the frame.

Step 14: FRAME ASSEMBLE & HANGER

Then, stick the frame with base by the help of glue,
Cover all the sides of the whole frame by appealed sheets include corners,
Don't forget to put a hanger.

Step 15: COLOUR WHOLE FRAME

Colour (or) paint as your wish to your frame.

Step 16: GIFT PACK (OPTIONAL)

Hang the art in your place or gift it to your loved one and make the day memorable,
I gifted it to my younger brother's marriage gift.
