Introduction: 3 Ingredients Light Frozen Yogurt
THIS GUIDE IS IN SEVERAL CONTESTS! IF YOU LIKE IT, VOTE FOR IT! THANKS! :D
Hi dear friends!
This is Filippo from Italy.
Recently I've won two Zoku Ice Cream Makers, along with a cool recipe book, in last Frozen Treat Contest here on Instructables with my Frozen Cappuccino!
As some of my followers may know, I'm a big fan of healthy food&recipes, so I immediatly started thinking about some yummy BUT light dessert to prepare with my new Zoku equipment!
My first experiment was a simple, basic Frozen Yogurt, one of the easiest things you can make.
...and it came out really, really good!
In this guide, I'll show you how to make a super-basic Light Frozen Yogurt, only with 3 ingredients! (and only a few kitchen tools)
This recipe is a perfect base for trying new things.
For example, you can add almonds, cinnamon, raisins and make your personalized Frozen Yogurt in minutes.
Let's move on!
Step 1: Ingredients and Tools
This recipe is very easy, you'll need only a few things.
The list is for a single serving, so you only have to multiply the quantity of each ingredient based on your servings!
- Zoku Ice Cream Maker + included plastic spoon
You can buy it here on the Zoku Shop
- 150gr (5.29oz) of light Yogurt
I use the Muller 0,1% wich is still pretty sweet despite the low fat percentage
- 70ml (2.37oz) of low fat milk
- 1 teaspoon of brown sugar
If you prefer a less acid frozen yogurt (or if your low fat yogurt is not very sweet), you can add another spoon of brown sugar to the mix
- A plastic cup and a spoon
You don't need anything else to make your basic recipe!
Use your creativity to add other ingredients and make your personal Frozen Yogurt! :)
Step 2: Mixing and Freezing!
The preparation is simple as the ingredients list!
Leave your Zoku Ice Cream Maker for at least 12 hours inside your freezer.
Then, put milk, yogurt and brown sugar in a plastic cup and mix everything with a spoon, until you have a smooth and homogeneous mix.
Then, put the plastic cup in your freezer for about 50 minutes / 1 hour.
It's very important to use a PLASTIC cup, because a ceramic one can easily crack inside the freezer!
We don't want dangerous and sharp chippings inside our dessert.
We're almost done!
Step 3: Mix It Up in the Magic Cup! ♫
Now, take your mix out of the freezer.
It should be harder on the surface and still liquid (but very icy!) inside.
Pour it in the Zoku Ice Cream Maker and start to stir with the special plastic spoon included (it avoids scratches on the inox steel surface).
At the beginning, the mix will frozen and stick on the walls of the cup, but after a couple of minutes the temperature will drop enough to allow a perfect mixing while still freezing your yogurt.
In less than 10 minutes, you'll have a perfect, smooth and yummy Light Frozen Yogurt!
Step 4: Dessert Time!
The amount of calories per serving is less than 100kcal (less than 2 Oreos) with a very low % of fats, making it a perfect dessert even for strict diets!
Obviously, the true potential of this recipes is that it's a very easy mix for a Frozen Yogurt base! I suggest you to try different combinations of ingredients to create new flavors.
In photos, you can see one of my first experiment: cinnamon, oatmeal flakes and Goji berries. I liked it a lot!
Zoku Ice Cream Makers came out to be really useful tools for a quick ice-cream/frozen yogurt preparation!
I will post new ibles with different recipes, always trying to stay in the "healthy" side of food. ;)
Hope you like it!
Ciao a tutti!
