Introduction: Add the Eyes
The following information is a single lesson in a larger Tinkercad project. Check out this and more projects on Tinkercad.
Here is the shape we will be creating.
Instructions
- Select Paste from the Edit menu on the toolbar. This will paste the design you created in the previous lesson into this lesson.
- Drag a cylinder onto the workplane. Make its dimensions 10mm by 10mm.
- Duplicate the cylinder. Nudge the duplicate shape 18mm to the right.
- Group the cylinders. Lower the height of the group to 5mm.
- Align the eyes with the center of the ghost. Nudge down to the eye position you would like.
- Select the eyes and the ghost and group them.
- Continue to the next step.
Step 1: Add the Mouth
Now we need to add the mouth.
Instructions
- Drag a cylinder onto the workplane. Change its dimensions to 22mm long x 16mm wide x 5mm tall.
- Drag a round roof shape onto the workplane. Rotate it 90 degrees around the z-axis and 90 degrees around the y-axis.
- Select the cylinder and the round roof shapes and align along the left edge and center.
- Nudge the round roof shape 7mm to the left.
- Duplicate the round roof shape and rotate it 180 degrees around the z-axis.
- Nudge the second round roof shape 19mm to the right.
- Select both round roof shapes and convert to holes.
- Select the holes and cylinder and group them.
- Align the mouth with the center of the ghost. Nudge the mouth position up and down to where you would like it placed.
- Select the ghost and the mouth and group.
- Continue to the next step.
Step 2: Add Air Holes
The following information is a single lesson in a larger Tinkercad project. Check out this and more projects on Tinkercad.
Now we need holes to allow the air to escape.
Instructions
- Drag a cylinder onto the workplane. Make its width 5mm.
- Drag the cylinder so that it is between the mouth and the left edge of the ghost. Exact placement does not matter.
- Duplicate the cylinder and drag or nudge it to a corresponding position on the other side of the mouth. Exact placement does not matter.
- Duplicate the cylinder again. Rotate the new cylinder 90 degrees around the z-axis and drag to place between the eyes and the top edge of the ghost. Exact placement doesn't matter.
- Select all three cylinders and convert to holes.
- Select the three holes and the ghost and group.
- Continue to the next lesson.
Step 3: Print Your Cookie Cutter and Make Some Cookies
The following information is a single lesson in a larger Tinkercad project. Check out this and more projects on Tinkercad.
Instructions
- From the "Design" menu select "Download for 3D Printing." Download your file as a .STL and follow instructions for your 3D printer.
3D printed material is not dishwasher safe. They can also be difficult to clean because of the space in between the printed layers. For that reason it is recommended that you only use the cookie cutters once.
- Now you can start a new design and create your own cookie cutter.
