Introduction: Boy Scout Paracord Neckerchief Slide

About: I love a new adventure. I love the outdoors, and doing fun things outside. Anything and everything paracord is awesome.
My brother kept losing his neckerchief slides, so I devised a simple way to make a paracord one. Enjoy!

Step 1: Supplies

You will need:
- approximately 6 feet of paracord
- scissors
- a ruler
- a lighter

Step 2: Creating the Core

Fold your single strand of paracord in half to form a loop. Thread the working ends into the loop to make a band of paracord; this will be the core. I made mine about 2 inches long, but it was a little too big.

Step 3: Starting the Knot

Fold your working ends over the loop. This is the tricky part: begin the knot by taking the right working strand and placing it behind the two core strands. With the left strand, loop over the front of the core strand and through the loop created by the right strand. Be sure the right strand is also through the left loop, or else it won't work. Tighten.

Step 4:

Repeat step 3, except do the opposite: put the right strand in front this time, and loop the left one behind.

Step 5: Finishing It Off

Repeat steps 3 and 4 until you reach the end of the cord. I actually went over the end and continued making the knots because mine was too big, but you get the same result. Cut the ends of the paracord as short as you can, then burn the ends. You can lick your finger and flatten it while it's still hot to give it shape so that it will hold better, and it won't be as pokey.
