This is a scarf/mitten set that I made for my mother for Christmas. [Edit: I finally finished the hat!] They were made with an H hook and Lion Brand Wool-Ease yarn (link to yarn: http://cache.lionbrand.com//yarns/woolease.htm) in forest green.
