Introduction: DIY Guinea Pig House

Hey guys Patrick here again and today I'm going to show you how to make a cardboard house for your Guinea Pig. All you need for this is some Non toxic glue, An X-Acto Knife, and some cardboard.

Step 1: Cutting Out the Walls.

To cut out the walls all you need to do is measure your cage and then draw the walls onto your cardboard. The dimensions for my house were 45x25x19. You can look and the measurements in the pictures below. Once you have your walls cut out you can then add in your doors and windows. I also added in some cardboard "struts" to add to the look of the house. They break up the flat look of the building.

Step 2: Putting the Walls Together.

I began by cutting out 6.5x6.5cm squares and cutting them along the diagonals this gave me 90 degree struts to add structure to the walls. I then added them to the corners of the side walls as you can see in the pictures above. I then connected the walls together.

Step 3: Attaching the Roof.

The next thing I did was attach the roof. All i did was cut a piece of cardboard 25x45 and glue it on top. Then i just went round the entire house and made sure there was no glue showing just to be extra safe.

Step 4: Putting It in the Cage.

I put the house in the cage towards the end of the cage. And my Zoe took right to it and started running around and sleeping in the house. Hope you all enjoyed and I'll see you in the next instructable.
