Introduction: Mini Pinatas
These cute mini pinatas are cheap to make and can lighten the mood of any day! these pinatas ditch the mess of paper mache and need no time to dry so your pinata making experience will be less long and boring and more fun and decorative! :)
Step 1: Step 1 - What You Will Need
- Scotch tape
- Cereal box
- Scissors
- Sharpie
- Streamers *green* - *pink* - *white*
- Construction paper *light pink* - *white* - *black*
- Glue stick
- Candy
- String (to hang pinata)
Step 2: Step 2 - Drawing Base Shapes
With a sharpie or marker, draw 2 large semi-circles, and leave room where the spine of the cereal box is. (slim sides of the cereal box)
After you are done with the semi-circles draw 3 long strips with the remaining room on the cereal box.
Step 3: Step 3 - Cut Out the Shapes
Take your scissors and cut out the 3 strips and the s semi-circles.
when done, line up the 2 semi-circles and make sure they are the same size, do this with the 3 strips as well.
Step 4: Step 4 - Assemble Base Shapes
hold the semi-circles the length apart of your strips and attach them with scotch tape as shown im the image above.
Step 5: Step 5 - Cutting the Streamers
cut up your streamers so they are square.
cut slits halfway up the streamer, and repeat this for all colors.
Step 6: Step 6 - Gluing the Streamers
Glue the streamers one by one from bottom to top and apply as many as possible, if there aren't enough it will look deflated.
Step 7: Step 7 - EXTRA - Adding a Cute Construction Paper Face
Take your pink, black, and white construction paper. cut four big ovals with the black construction paper, make four big and four small white circles with the white, and make four long ovals with the pink. see picture above for accurate size.
Step 8: Step 8 - Putting Together Peices of the Face
Glue the four bigger white circles in the bottom left area corner of each of the black ovals. glue the smaller white circles on the top right area as seen in the picture.
Step 9: Step 9 - Glue Face to Watermelon
Glue the eyes where you would like and glue the long pink ovals under them to make your cute face, repeat this on both sides.
Step 10: Step 10 - Fill With Candy
Here is the fun part... FILLING IT WITH CANDY!
Get some wrapped candy from a local store and fill the pinata with it, when the pinata is full, you can either leave it open tape it or tape something over it such as cardboard or paper.
