Introduction: My Home Biogas Unit
When a gas shortage came up a few months ago, I wondered if
a gas or bio gas unit would be useful at this time. So I watched a lot of youtube videos on how to make a bio gas. Many YouTube videos have shown me how to easily build gasoline units and make gas, so I got down. So I thought it would be good to share the experience I have had with our blog friends who are thinking of making a bio gas.
It should be noted that my bio gas experience has never been as beautiful and quick as YouTube videos.
Bio gas has two main components.
1. Digestion
2. Gas holder
Digesters
Digestion allows the digestive tract to be digested in an anaerobic, dark and warm environment. It is in such a situation that methane gas, which we call bio gas, is produced.
Gas holder
The bio gas or methane gas produced must be stored for use. This is what it is called.
For this purpose I had to use these parts. These are the things I learned from the advice on the Internet. Gas stoves, tee connectors, etc. can be obtained from gas stove repairs. I found these in a circle on the side of the Colombo quarry. 'Cause these are a little less expensive.
Gas Cooler, Tea Connector, Gas Connector
Level tube
Here is a barrel like this one that I chose for digestion.
This type of barrel was used in several YouTube videos. These were piled up near our homes in a place where old iron was being collected. I took one of them for Rs. 1,500. You may get more or less for free.
This barrel needs to be turned into a biogas digester right now. For this we need to install a few pipes.
Step 1:
1. Tube inserting digestible material
2. Tube that takes the digested material out
3. The tube that produces the methane gas produced into the gas container
The top lid of the digesting material was inserted into the digestive tract. This should go down the digestive tract. For this purpose I used a 2 inch PVC pipe. To make the digestible material easier, the opening had to be wide enough, so a 4-inch tube was attached to the top and an end cap was used as the lid.
Since heat is an important factor in producing biogas, we painted the barrel black to make it easier to absorb more heat.
It is important to remember that all these relationships must be well sealed. PVC tubes can be pasted with a PVC gum. The tubing connecting tubes to the digester should be sealed carefully so as to seal properly.
Step 2:
This is available as two tubes. The tubes should be arranged
in the same way as the two tubes. These glues can stick anything in just a few minutes. There are other types of tubes that can be purchased in two tubes. They are also good for drying if they dry too fast.
I used a half inch PVC pipe to carry the gas to the exhaust pipe.
As in several youtube videos, I used a gas tube and discarded an automobile tube. These are easily found in a tire shop. But I had to get tired of several tire shops. All I could find was a car tube. If you can find a tube like a bus, you can save a lot of gas.
This part should be connected to the end of the gas carrying pipe. For tubing carrying gas to the bearing and the bio gas oven, Masons Level tubes are suitable. This is because I had problems with the normal gas pipes. These level tubes should be selected to fit the normal gas pipe size.
Step 3:
Another thing to note is that gas clips must be used when
connecting gas pipes. Or maybe the gas leak. It can be dangerous.
Then connect the gas holder tube through the T-connector. On the other side, another tube should be installed, and a gas hose should be installed at the end.
The work is now over. Now the digestive material needed to produce methane gas is injected into the digestive tract.
Anything that is digested is suitable for this purpose, but in the beginning, methane gas is produced quickly by dung.
I used about twenty kilos of dung for this purpose. Cattle homes can be purchased for a small amount, free of charge or dung.
The dung should be thoroughly mixed with water. The mixture should not be too thick or too liquid. Remember to prepare the liquid in the intermediate state.
