Introduction: Pirate Ship for Laser Cutter

I have created a ready to laser cut 3D model of a pirate ship Your kids can paint this or leave it blank like we did.

Supplies

  • 3mm X 600mm X 300mm MDF board
  • CA glue
  • Lasercutter
  • wood file / rasp

Step 1: Laser Cut the Wood

Use the provided SVG file. It consists of all the necessary pieces.

I used Inkscape to create this file and to print the model to the laser cutter.

Beware that the design in the SVG file is for material with a 3 mm thickness.

Step 2: Puzzle

Try to fit all the pieces together so you get your pirate ship. Some pieces may fit really tight, use the wood file where needed.

Step 3: Glue Together

Finally you can run some CA glue into the joints so that the ship is more solid
