Introduction: Pride Tutu Skirt

About: I like to learn new things. I really enjoy it. Learning makes me feel alive.

I'm going to participate in two pride festivals in a few weeks and I like to do my own costumes. So I decided to finally do that tutu skirt that I'll been wanting for so long.

Step 1: Getting the Fabrics

I live in a small town and we don't even have a store were we can buy tulle in different colors. Lucky me I was in Stockholm so I took the chance to but what I needed.

Step 2:

I measured my waist and knot the elastic together. It is better if you use a wider elastic but I couldn't find it so I used the first thing that I found at home.

Step 3: Cut the Pieces

I cut the tulle in half three times until I had 10 cm wide strips.

Step 4: Getting Started

I made a simple loop and knot around the elastic (you tulle is folded in half then a small loop around the elastic). How many spools of tulle you will need will depend on the length and how full you want the skirt to be.

Step 5: First Color

I started with red and honesty I had to look after pictures to be sure about the order :-)

Step 6: And There You Have It

I took me about an hour to complete the skirt. I have enough fabric to do another one. I'm gonna try another tutu skirt that I saw on Pinterest. I hope you like it.

Step 7: Update

I bought wider elastic and used the same technique and I got a better result.
