Introduction: Tips for at Home Learning
In this instructable, I will be sharing some useful tips that you can use as a teacher or a student. I have used all of these tips included in this instructable and they have really helped me succeed. I hope you enjoy this and find it helpful :)!
Step 1: Set Up Your Area
Sometimes when you are having trouble focusing and sticking with something it is because of your surroundings and where your space is set up. For this tip, all you need to do is set up your area in a calm, quiet area with no distractions around you. I like to work in my room, on my desk with my windows open letting in some sunlight and fresh air so I don't feel so antsy and bored. Make yourself comfortable with a pillow for your back or a comfy chair to sit on but make sure you don't work in a place that makes you feel lazy. For example, one time I was feeling pretty groggy when I needed to do my work so I thought it would be a good idea to set up in my bed with a soft blanket. I ended up falling asleep and I got nothing done!
Step 2: Organize!!
I find this tip EXTRA helpful because if my area isn't organized and in place, I feel super weird and it makes me feel like I have no idea what I'm doing. I personally like to use little boxes, tubs, holders, etc. to hold my papers, files, pencils... I think you get it. This doesn't mean you need to go extreme clean your room to be successful academically, it just means to try to keep an organized area :)
Step 3: Give Yourself Breaks
I know that sometimes it gets overwhelming to be working for long periods of time without stopping. I like to take small, 30-60 minute breaks whenever I feel like I am getting too stressed or run-down. I am the type of person who always tries to get everything done as quickly as possible but I often find myself getting super cranky and tired when I don't take breaks. Keep in mind, just because I said take breaks, that doesn't mean you should go take a 3-hour nap!!
Step 4: Make a Schedule
This tip is really helpful because I sometimes forget what I need to be doing each day. I keep a regular old comp. notebook and label each day of the week. Then, under each day, I write out what I need to do. You could even put in other things like going on a run or taking a short nap. This tip isn't super restricting, you just need to do what works for you :)
Step 5: Stay Positive :)
This might be a scary situation but you just need to remember that we are all in this together and everyone is feeling the same way you feel. When you find yourself feeling sad, just think positive and remind yourself that this will all be over soon.
Step 6: Practice Self-care
I know it might seem like a good idea to stay in your pajamas and not brush your teeth just because you aren't going to see anyone, but it just doesn't make you feel good. Make sure you eat healthily and drink lots of water throughout the day. It will make you feel really good and energized! Also, you can always eat a small snack while you're working/learning to keep you energized and happy :)
Step 7: Spend Time Outside
Even if you can't go to public places, that doesn't give you an excuse to be stuck in your room all day. Our bodies need some sunshine and fresh air to make us feel good. Every once in awhile, it is okay to go work outside on a lawn chair or on a blanket in the grass (just make sure you stay away from people).
