6 DIY Rings | Adjustable & No Special Tools! Easy Rings

I am yet again creating DIY Easy rings and this time I have 6 DIY rings. :) They are honestly super easy to make! These easy rings are adjustable, affordable and fun, so there is no excuse not to make them :) Create your own DIY jewelry starting with a handmade ring! They only take 5 minutes to make!

I actually own a fair bit of jewelry making tools, but I assume most of you guys don't have jewelry making stuff (as I guess not everyone wants to make jewelry all the time) and that's why I came up with an easy way of making these DIY rings with no professional jewelry making tools. I am using a wire cutter, but you can swap it for any old wire cutting tool or even heavy duty scissors! See the list of materials I used for the DIY rings.

Step 2: Materials

DIY rings - materials:

No.1

Gold plated copper wire (18 gauge non tarnish from Beadsmith), flat turquoise bead, Wire cutters, something round to wrap your ring around(similar to the width of your finger)

No.2

Gold plated copper wire (18 gauge non tarnish from Beadsmith), pom pom - check out my instructable on how to make mini pom pom, hot glue gun and glue sticks(or other adhesive), Wire cutters, something round to wrap your ring around

No.3

Gold plated copper wire -18 gauge from Beadsmith, fine silver glitter. Hot glue gun(Stanley), Glue sticks(Stanley) Piece of tape, wire cutters, something round to wrap your ring around

No.4

Gold plated copper wire (18 gauge non tarnish from Beadsmith), piece of thin silver plated copper wire(24 gauge or so), 22 gauge copper wire, glue gun and sticks (or other adhesive), Wire cutters, something round to wrap your ring around

No.5

silver plated copper wire (18 gauge non tarnish from Beadsmith), Chinese chopstick or something rectangular, hot glue, piece of tape, white nail polish, Tulip glow in the dark fabric paints, Wire cutters, something round to wrap your ring around

No.6

copper wire - 20 gauge non tarnish, small pearl bead, Wire cutters, something round to wrap your ring around

Step 3: Ring No.1

Cut some wire and add your bead to it. Then flatten and cross the wire at the back of the bead and kind of twist it (or wrap it?) around each other twice. Get your round object and shape the ring and using wire cutters, bend the ends sideways, then cut any excess wire off and again using wire cutters(or any pliers) press the wire firmly.

Done!

Step 4: Ring No.2

Using wire cutters, bend the end of your wire backwards and create a small loop. Then grab it with your wire cutters and start creating a spiral. Hold it gently to make sure you don't cut it off and once the spiral is big enough, you can hold it with your fingers and keep turning the wire around it until you have your desired size of spiral.

Then get you your round object and press the spiral against it and wrap the other end of the wire around it twice. Once you have measured where the end of the wire will get when you have the ring on your finger, cut the excess and use either wire cutters to create a small loop or if you don't want any marks on the wire, you can wrap it around a toothpick and then cut the excess wire off.

Apply a generous amount of hot glue to the base and add your pom pom (if you don't know how to make one, I have a tutorial on "How to make a mini pom pom, so you can have a read of that), press it down and again, done!

Step 5: Ring No.3

If you have already seen my previous instructable on the DIY Easy rings (hot glue), then you will will be familiar with the way i make them. This next ring is based on the same principal :)

Get a piece of wire and bend it slightly in half, then pressing the middle of the wire around 'something round', shape it into a ring shape. Grab a brush holder or a pen or something thin and round and wrap each side of the wire around it 3 times to create bezels.

Stick a piece of clear tape to the bottom of each bezel and rest your ring on something which will hold it in place.

Then apply a small amount of hot glue to each bezel and immediately cover it generously with glitter. Repeat for the second bezel. Let it cool down and wash under running water to get rid of any glitter that didn't stick to the glue.

Done!

Step 6: Ring No.4

Create the skeleton of this ring the same way as the pom pom, but this time only wrap it once and create a small loop on the end.

Bend a small piece of copper wire in half and twist it until you have 5cm and then wrap it around a brush handle to create a small twisted ring. Cut excess wire off and using your fingers, bend the two twisted ends so that the line up with each other.

Scrunch a piece of thin silver wire randomly into a small ball that fits the small twisted ring, and then secure it to the ring spiral with hot glue. First the ring, then the ball and press it down firmly.

Done!

Step 7: Ring No.5

With this ring follow the instrucitons for the glitter ring :) Only make one bezel though, using a Chinese chop stick (as it's rectanglular) and only wrap your wire once around your round object and then cut the rest of it off. File the end with a nail file (or create a loop).

Once you have applied the hot glue and all is set, paint the glue with a coat of white nail varnish. This is optional, but the paints glow better when they are applied to a white surface. Let it dry and then get creative with the Tulip fabric paints. Secure your ring though, so that it doesn't move, the paints are quite runny. Let everything dry for about 5 hours and you are ready to wear it!

Step 8: Ring No.6

And the last DIY ring is again super easy! Bend your wire in half and twist it. After about 5cm add the pearl bead and carry on twisting. Then shape the wire, cut excess wire off and using wire cutters, bend each bit of wire sticking out backwards or sideways and press with wire cutters. Ehm.. done!
