I just love simple DIY and simple jewelry making. That’s why I am creating these simple DIY bracelets today :). I have also decided to post more of these simple DIY jewelry tutorials as I really enjoy coming up with new designs.

These DIY bracelets are honestly super easy to make! No kidding! It takes no time to make these DIY bracelets and you will learn a few jewelry life hacks in the process :) Create your own DIY jewelry starting with a super cool friendship bracelet and a beautiful rainbow bangle bracelet! They take less than 5 minutes to make! I promise!

I actually own a fair bit of jewelry making tools, but I assume most of you guys don't have jewelry making stuff (as I guess not everyone wants to make jewelry all the time) and that's why I came up with an easy way of making these DIY bracelets with no professional jewelry making tools. I am using a wire cutter, but you can swap it for any old wire cutting tool or even heavy duty scissors to cut the wire and strong nail scissors to bend wire! Step 1: Watch This Video or Read Written Instructions

Watch this video or read written instructions in the following steps. Of course you'll find more details in the video, but I'm going to try and explain the process as well as I can :)

Step 2: Materials

DIY bracelets - materials:

No 1. Gold plated copper wire (20 gauge non tarnish from Palmers Metals)

Cotton floss - green and pink

Hot glue gun and glue sticks

Wire cutters(or scissors)

wooden stick to help with the twisting

a glass to shape the bracelet

No.2 Silver plated copper wire (20 gauge non tarnish from Palmers Metals)

Swarovski crystal bicon beads(4mm)

wire cutters(or scissors)

Step 3: Bracelet No.1 - the Skeleton

Get a piece of string, paper or anything to wrap around your wrist and measure the diameter.

Then cut about 100cm(approx 40 inch) of wire, fold it in half, insert a wooden cuticle stick(or a pencil etc) and start twisting the wire. I found it was really easy to twist by holding onto the two wires firmly with your thumb and pointer finger whilst spinning the stick around. If you have a leather glove, then use it to hold the wire, it will be more comfortable. And basically twist the wire until you have reached the tenth of your measuring string :) When measuring, consider the fact there will be loops on each end, so that should be roughly included in your measurement too.

All right let's finish the bracelet skeleton by wrapping the two loose wires around the wooden stick and create another slightly longer (double) loop, then wrap the loose ends around the twisted bit in different directions to secure the loop.

Step 4: Bracelet No.1- Cotton Floss

Get your cotton floss, about 2.5 meters(98inch) for each colour(you can always cut the excess off, but can't add it on :) Same goes for the wire :)) .... and fold it in half. Thread the folded bit through the double loop and make a knot. Then start wrapping it around one of the loose wires. You can either do this slowly and super neatly, or pretty fast by loosely and quickly frapping it around first, then pulling the floss towards you to make it tight and pushing towards the already wrapped part with your fingers. And as I don't really have much patience I of course went for the second option and it worked out pretty well I'd say :) Wrap wrap wrap, the wrapped wire should be longer that the twisted one by about 10cm(4 inches) Then get a hot glue gun and glue the end to the wire to secure it. I guess you could use some tape or double sided tape instead. Repeat this process using the other coloured floss starting on the opposite side of the loop.

Next step is to wrap the two cotton floss wires around the twisted one. It's a little bit like braiding it, but you basically go over the top of the twisted wire and then the bottom. And repeat until you get to the end of it :) Once you get to the end of the twisted wire apply a bit of hot glue to the twisted wire and then bent each cotton coated wire around it. Then using small scissors cut the floss and either tie a knot or use hot glue to secure it. If you use hot glue, wait until it has cooled down and then cut off any visible glue with scissors to make it neat.

Step 5: Bracelet No.1 - Finishing

Wrap the two wires twice in opposite directions around the twisted wire and then cut off the excess. Ten using your wire cutters bend each bit and then press it down.

We need to create a hook from the double loop on the other side and I used wire cutters to do that. Grab the bottom loop with your wire cutters and bend it down (don't press it too hard though, you don't want to cut it off :))

The last step is to get a glass or something round of a similar diameter to your wrist and wrap the whole thing around it to make it nice and round. Then using your fingers bend each end down a bit until it hooks nicely in place.

Done :)

Step 6: Bracelet No.2

As with the first bracelet, make a skeleton this time from a silver wire (I have accidentally made the skeleton too long, so it became a bangle :)) If you'd like it to be a bangle then start with about 120 cm wire(47.5 inch) wire.

I have then wrapped the two wires around a few times before adding the beads, but you can totally add the beads from the start, it would even look better I'm sure. And then add the beads, hold the wires between your thumb and pointer finger in the place where they cross and bend them over the top and then under the twisted wire and repeat. The wire will need a little bit of help shaping it with your fingers to make it nice and round.

It then gets finished exactly the same as the first one.
