Introduction: DIY Earrings | Easy and NO TOOLS!

I just love simple DIY and simple life hacks! Don’t you? That’s why I am creating these simple DIY earrings today :) I also think I'll make it a regular thing as you guys seem to like these simple jewelry making instructables! :) And I really enjoy coming up with new designs. They are honestly super easy to make! No kidding! It takes no time to make these DIY earrings :) Create your own DIY jewelry starting with a pair of easy diamond earrings! They take less than 5 minutes to make!

I actually own a fair bit of jewelry making tools, but I assume most of you guys don't have jewelry making stuff (as I guess not everyone wants to make jewelry all the time) and that's why I came up with an easy way of making these DIY earrings with no professional jewelry making tools. I am using a wire cutter, but you can swap it for any old wire cutting tool or even heavy duty scissors!

See you next Thursday!

PS: And just to remind you, I am running a GIVEAWAY until the end of January, so watch the GIVEAWAY video here if you are interested in winning a gorgeous pair of silver and crystal earrings:

Step 1: You Can Watch My Video Tutorial Here

You can watch my video tutorial here or read written instructions in the next steps. Or both :)

Step 2: Materials Used

See the list of materials I used for the DIY earrings below.

DIY earrings - materials:

Gold plated copper wire (20 gauge non tarnish from Palmers Metals)

Gold plated copper wire (22 gauge non tarnish from Palmers Metals)-or just a pin to create the earring backs

2 Swarovski crystals (45mm - SWAROVSKI CHATON CLEAR CUT CRYSTAL FOILED POINTED BACK )

Hot glue gun(Stanley)

Glue sticks(Stanley)

Piece of clear tape, wire cutters

something round(to wrap your wire around to create the bezel) - I used a wooden cuticle stick

a piece of foam board or cardboard

baking paper, pin, nail file

brush handle-or the wooden stick(for setting the stone into the bezel)

Step 3: Create the Bezels

Cut two small pieces of 20 gauge wire (about 2") and wrap around the cuticle stick about 3-4 times to create the bezel. Using scissors or wire cutters, cut the beginning of the wire off. Then take something with a sharp edge, in my case scissors (you can even use an edge of the table) and bend the straight wire to create an earring post. Do the same for the other earrings.

Step 4: Prepare for the Stone Settings

I got two pieces of foam board and taped them together to stop them from moving. Then I cut a small piece of baking paper and taped that on the top of the foam board.

Using a pin, pierce 4 holes into the paper and then put in the earrings and leave the other two holes empty.

Wrap a brush handle or the cuticle stick with a bit of clear tape(the other way round) to make it sticky and then stick your crystal to it.

Prepare two pieces of slightly thinner wire (22 gauge) or 2 thin pins and leave them nearby. The idea is to use wire(or pins) which is a bit thinner than the earring posts.

Step 5: Setting the Stones

Add a very small drop of hot glue into the bezel and immediately add your stone to it. Then press down with your finger.

Add two small drops on the top of the other two holes and pierce with the thin wire then let everything cool down.

Step 6: Finishing

Using your nail file, sand the sharp edges of the earring posts. Then get the two earring backs of the this wires and slide onto the earring :)

And there you have it! Gorgeous, simple and cheap "diamond" earrings :)

Let me know if you make them, I would love to see your creations! ;)
