Introduction: How to Sculpt and Add Missing Pottery Segment and Apply Gold Kintsugi
This tutorial is an example of one of the methods we use to sculpt and add a missing pottery rim segment using the resin casting technique. The finish can be seamless repair or Kintsugi repair.

Supplies
- Two-part 5 min PC Clear epoxy
- Wooden stick or a pin-tool
- Container with pvc pebbles or rice
- Casting mold
- Two parts epoxy resin
- Scale
- Denatured or 91% Alcohol
- Rag
- Paper pad to mix Epoxy on
Step 1: Mix Casting Mold
Mix well two even parts of casting mold
Step 2: Apply Casting Mold
- Apply casting mold to an unbroken segment
- When shaped casting mold cured, add more casting mold on the side opening
Step 3: Preparing and Pouring the Resin Epoxy
- Pour equal parts of resin-epoxy
- Mix the two part resin epoxy well
- Fill the mold impression with casting-resin
Step 4: Resin Epoxy Curation
- Wait for casting-resin to cure
- Remove newly made segment when cured
- Segment ready to be applied
Step 5: Marking the Required Shape
- Mark cutting area
- Marked casted segment ready for shaping
Step 6: Shape to Size
- Cut close to the penciled line
- Grind for final sizing
- Verify proper fit
Step 7: Mending
- Mix two parts epoxy
- Apply epoxy
- Place segment
Step 8: Added Segment Ready for the Next Steps
- Segment applied and ready for a filler application
