Festive Holiday Coffee Table Centerpiece

It's that time of year again, when all the holiday decorations come out and everyone's does up their house like its Santa's workshop.

This year I wanted something festive to put on my coffee table but I didn't want to go out and just buy something.

That's why I decided to make this Festive Holiday Coffee Table Centerpiece. It's super easy and looks great when it's done! It takes less then an hour and cost about $10

Step 1: Materials

Here is what you will need to make your own Festive Holiday Coffee Table Centerpiece:

- hot glue gun ( with extra sticks)
- knife
- scissors
- scrap piece of styrofoam
- candle holder with plate (from the dollar store)
- candles
- fake wreath branches ( dollar store)
- pine cones x3
- miniature ball ornaments
- gold glitter paint
- decorative branches ( gold)

Step 2: Setting Up the Base

So the first thing your going to want to do is to set up the base. Start by getting your candle holder plate and glueing 3 small squares of styrofoam (different heights work best) in the center of the plate. This is where your glass candle holders will sit.

Once you are happy with your 3 styrofoam bases, use your scissors to cut different lengths of fake branches and glue them down until you can not see the plate. ( I found that starting with large branches at the bottom, and using smaller ones on top worked best.)

Step 3: Adding the Candle Holders

This step is pretty easy. Next your going to want to glue down the small glass candle holders on to the styrofoam bases. This was done to give the candles height so that they don't get lost among everything else.

Finish this step by cutting small pieces of branch to fit in between the candle holders until you can not see the styrofoam.

Step 4: Adding the Decorations

Now comes the fun part! Start glueing down your decorations. I chose to use pinecones, small round ornaments and gold painted fake branches.

Arrange your decorations anyway you want but I found it easiest if you placed the gold branches first, and arranged the pine cones and ornaments around them.

Step 5: The Final Touch

Now the only thing left to do is to add a little bit of gold fleck paint to the tips of the branches and pinecones.

I also found that dipping your paint brush into the paint and flicking it onto your centerpiece gives it a great effect too. ( try not to get any in the glass candle holders)

Once your paint dries place your candles into the candle holders and you good to go.

YOUR DONE!!

And that's it. You now have a great, festive centerpiece that didn't cost a fortune and still looks fantastic. This also makes a great gift around the holiday season!
