Introduction: Sink Stopper

About: Our grandkids keep me busy!

Well this is an unusual model, for me at least.

On occasion, I find it easier and less expensive to design and 3D print replacement parts and "Sink Stopper" is one of those occasions. Our current kitchen sink stopper does seal thus the sink empties before dish cleaning is completed, and a replacement costs around $45.00, so I designed this inexpensive alternative.

The video is a tutorial showing how I created the sink stopper profile sketch, then using a revolve to create the model. I've included the file "Sink Stopper.stl" ready for 3D printing and the Autodesk Fusion 360 file "Sink Stopper.f3d" if you wish to alter the sink stopper dimensions. For the sink stopper to work, it must be 3D printed using flexible material on a smooth build plate thus I used TPU filament with 20% infill, .15mm layer height and no supports.

Enjoy!

Designed using Autodesk Fusion 360, sliced using Ultimaker Cura 4.12.1, and 3D printed in TPU on an Ultimaker S5.
