Paracord Knife Handle Wrap

Hey everyone, I'm finally back and today I'm going to teach you how to wrap a knife handle in paracord

The knife I used is the MD-1BD Diving Knife, I'll give you a link at the end of the Instructable.

Step 1: Gather Materials

First, you'll need a few things:
-Paracord
-A knife to wrap
-Scissors
-Lighter
-Electric tape
-Alcohol wipe
-needle nosed pliers (not pictured)

You'll need around 3 feet of Paracord for every inch you need to wrap.
For example, I used 9 feet of cord (including excess) for about 3 inches of wrapping.

Step 2: Preparing the Knife (optional)

When I wrap the knife, I always like to make sure it's clean, so you can either wash it or wipe it down with an alcohol scrub.

Step 3: Covering the Knife

For added safety I put electric tape on the edges of the knife so I don't accidentally cut myself while working on it

Step 4: Cow Hitch on the Knife

This is going to be a regular cobra hitch wrap, so it will be like making a basic bracelet.

IMPORTANT: I used gutted paracord for a cleaner look and so the knife would fit into a sheath, after all it is a diving knife.

First you'll need to make a cow hitch on the knife.

Step 1: Make a loop at the middle of the length of cord
Step 2: Pull the loop through the top hole of the knife
Step 3: Pull it through the next hole down
Step 4: Run the opposite ends through the loop and pull until tight.

Step 5: Beginning the Wrap

Next, you'll have to push the cords through the second hole then pull

Step 1: Separate the two cords
Step 2: Pass the right cord under the knife
Step 3: Pass the left cord under the right cord
Step 4: Pass the left cord over the knife
Step 5: Thread the left cord through the small loop on the right side of the knife
Step 6: Pull until tight

Step 7: Continuing the Wrap

Step 1: Turning the knife over will reveal a cleaner start and this will be less confusing to work with
Step 2: Do the exact same steps from before
Step 3: Make sure to push the braid together so it will hold more cord and provide a cleaner look

Step 8: Finishing the Wrap

After you've finished braiding the desired amount, the. you'll need to finish the wrap.

Step 1: Use the needle nosed pliers to pull the excess cord through the braid.
Step 2: Do the same thing on the opposite side
Step 3: Cut off the excess cord
Step 4: Melt the ends and press the melted end onto the wrap

Repeat steps 3 and 4 on the opposite side of the knife

Step 9: Finished!
