Introduction: Ring Made From Scrap Wire and Leather by Dylan Age 11

This is a beautiful ring that I have made by using leftover wire from the miniature wire tree that I made for instructables.com.

Supplies

Drill
Glue
Clamp
Leftover wire
Leather
Safety glasses
Hammer
Snips
Pointy nose pliers
Flat nosed pliers
Hard flat block for flattening the wire by hammering.
Shaping cylinder (size to match finished ring size).
Scalpel or craft knife (not shown in photo).

Step 1: Twisting the Wire Strands

Cut 10 matching lengths of wire.
Gather them together and clamp tightly between the hammering black and the table using the clamp.
Open the drill chuck wide enough to hold the other ends of the wire. Tighten the drill church around the wire securely.
Spin the drill until the wire is tightly wound.

Step 2:

Hammer the twisted wires with the hammer and the hammering block until nicely flattened.
Wrap the flattened wire around the shaping cylinder.
Trim to length.

Step 3:

Cut out a leather heart using a crafting knife or scalpel.
Put glue on the back of the heart and allow to dry. This is to add rigidity to the flexible leather.
Once dry, glue the stiffened heart to the wire ring.
.

Step 4:

Once the glue is completely dry, enjoy wearing your beautiful wire and leather ring.
